How Strong Is Giovanni?

Giovanni, the ex leader of the Viridian Gym and the main head boss of Team Rocket. For years, this man has been a recurring character across the Pokemon series. He has appeared several times across Pokemon media, in the Pokemon games, the anime, anime shorts, and even the manga. No matter where he is, Giovanni is always known to have some sort of strong presence. The reason for that strong presence is because of his reputation of being an evil leader of one of the biggest crime syndicates of the Pokemon World. He has this strong reputation and is feared everywhere but the question is, how strong is Giovanni really? Today we find that out by taking a look at his appearances across the Pokemon franchise and analyzing Team Rocket, his accomplishments, titles, Pokemon he has owned, and a few other factors that really delve into what he is. Giovanni has always interested me as a character and I can’t wait to see just how strong this dude is.

Pokemon Adventures/Pokemon Special Gio definitely deserves his own video, his character progression is a thing of beauty and the manga is one of the major reasons why he's one of my favorite villains to this day.

Lets not forget that giovanni is also one of the few fathers in the pokemon series and is absolutely horrible to his son silver, abandoning him as a child and causing silver to also follow a similar path of thinking pokemon are only good as tools. Without gold/krystal/lyra's influence, silver could have very well become evil himself

in the pokemon adventures manga giovanni had a powerful cloyster and he was 1 of the viridian forest childs able to speak to pokemon and even heal them like yellow, he also fights arceus in the heart gold soul silver and he fought really well i do feel like you missed his team's strength by a bit and in the manga he shows as 1 of the biggest and most fearsome trainer

Giovanni and Ghetsis are definetly the most heartless and cold team leaders. Not a surprise they're the best ones.

Team rocket has the only one who had a risk management plan of capturing a powerful legendary. Most villains in pokemon universe didn't have(except for the team plasma leader).
Team magma leader got blasted by Groudon, Team aqua leader got eaten by Kyogre, and team Galactic leader got killed by Giratina.
Giovanni deserves more recognition.
