I've learned that using a Lucario with Power Punch as a Charged Move is a lifesaver. Even if you do zero damage because of Giovanni's shields, you still get that power boost from Power Punch.

I recommend you to use a Pokémon that charges their charged attack quickly, to deplete his shields, then rely on your charged attacks more then your normal attack, that's what I did when I beat Giovanni

LOL I just brought my usual suspects in and dusted him. I admit he did have me on the ropes until I brought Dawn Wings in, so I guess a good tip is don't bring a fire type in. I had no idea about that switch strategy.

Cresselia is so bulky but shadow mewtwo with legacy shadow ball did the job.

You could also not fight him and instead farm the decoy grunts that disguise as him to get guaranteed shadow bellsprouts

Great tip : If You have hisuian typhlosion with the charged attack "Overheat" it can do a gap of damage to cresselia.
