I have a monthly subscription for Lightroom Mobile using it on my tablet. That model enables me to keep flexible when in the future my post processing flow might change. I can easy adapt. E.g. as I adapt from Android to Apple. Just changing the subscription. It didn’t cost me extra money. Great topic David!

I think the problem everyone is talking about is not subscription vs one time. I have zero problem with the subscription model. The big problem is Adobe’s terms and conditions: their full right to use your work anyway they want. I agree with you that TODAY serious professionals use Adobe, but things will change. Exactly for this reason…a serious professional will not tolerate such terms and conditions.

I almost didn't watch this to the end because I felt you'd missed the point of the Northrup's gripe. Now I've watched the wholw video I see you like controversy. Good for you but you didn't address the bigger issue of stealth and deception. As a photographer do you not always want to be in control of how your work is monetised? I love LR and PS but that doesn't mean I'm happy for them to use any part of my image without some kind of licencing agreement. As things currently stand, I'm not too fussed with how Adobe's running things. I don't use generative fill but as creatives we should keep our eye on the ball. The cost of creative freedom and ownership of our work is eternal vigilance.
