Now I want to make a hidden blade for myself that looks like this, but I wanted to be able to make the blade come back and not just drop it. Is there a way to do this?

1) What kind of material did you use to create it? It doesn't look like cardboard or plywood.
2) Is it necessary to completely fill the parts with glue?
