People are so petty here. Geographically, the country encompasses the old Macedonia, so just let them call themselves that if it makes them happy. Macedonia also rolls easier of the tongue than "Northern Macedonia", so everyone wins.

Speaking as an outsider who wouldn't understand this.. why not name the country "Alexandria " which sounds cool

Oh common. That was so hard to get both sides to agree to. Greeks had revolts and all just because they were so pissed about it. Impeach the guy plz and let’s get this over with
