How-to import multiple objects from two files in HubSpot.

In this HubSpot tutorial, we will walk you through how-to import multiple objects from two files in HubSpot.

In HubSpot, to import and associate multiple objects in two files, you must include a common column in both files to identify which records will be associated.

Steps to follow:

1. To import records, Navigate to one of the objects you wish to import for example here we selected contacts.

2. In the upper right, click Import.

3. Click Start an import.

4. Select File from the computer, then click Next.

5. Select Multiple files with associations, then click Next.

6. Select Multiple objects, then click Next.

7. Select the object in your import file. Here, I am using Contacts and Notes.

8. Next, click Choose a file for Contacts and then choose a file for Notes.

9. Tick the checkbox if you are updating the existing contacts that were initially exported. If not, leave it as such.

10. Click the dropdown menu and select the language of your file's column headers if you're importing data in another language.

11. In the bottom right, click Next.

12. Click the Common column headers found in your files dropdown menu and select the name of the common column that appears in both of your files. Like I am choosing Email here.

13. Email is my unique key for Contacts so we selected Contact here.

14. Click Next.

15. In the Map tab, HubSpot will match the columns in your file to your selected object's properties based on the header and the property name or you can also do the mapping manually.

16. While mapping, you can create a new property on the spot and you can also choose not to import a specific column from the sheet into the hubspot.

17. If you have an unmatched column, select the checkbox, Don't Import data in unmatched column.

18. Click next.

19. Now repeat the same for notes objects.

20. Click Next.

21. Give a name to your import.

22. If you've turned on GDPR functionality in your account, use the Set the legal basis for processing a contact's data dropdown menu to select a lawful basis of processing.

23. Click Finish import.
