I know normally once the FAA certs a plane that standard is accepted by other countries but I'm surprised you didn't mention the huge list of countries who have said they won't be accepting this FAA re-cert at face value and will instead be doing their own re-cert and recommendations on top of those on a country by country basis. This represents another HUGE step in getting these planes in the air since while there will be standard base upgrades there could be other changes deemed necessary that aren't part of the standard base which would take longer to implement since not being done at such large a scale.

Yes I totally see the "general public" avoiding the MAX.
"I won't fly a 737 EVER AGAIN!"
*737 MAX pulls up to the gate*
"Ah good my Airbus 747 arrived"

"the highly profitable summer season" well that statement didn't exactly age well

Boeing: Alright, we finally got our shit together.

Corona: I'm about to end this man's whole career.

Also don't forget: Boeing isn't done when the FAA is through with it.

Most of the other major regulatory bodies around the world have stated quite clearly that, after the MAX disaster and the FAAs involvement in it, they would NOT just adopt their directives (as was the case in the past) and instead put the plane through their own recertification process. May not matter to the american carriers, with the 737 being a short-hauler, but they sold a lot of 'em to overseas' airlines, as well.

Yeah but no one is giving props to Boeing for finally producing an aircraft that has emitted zero emissions on commercials flights in the last year lol

Half as Interesting 2050: That time Boeing built 800 planes that didn't fly.

I was in Hawaii years ago. During my stay there, the grounding of DC-10s was lifted. During check-in, for my return to the mainland, I asked what kind of plane we would be flying on. (I was very certain it would be a DC-10.) The agent's response was "a modern wide-body aircraft". I wasn't satisfied with that answer so I asked again. I received exactly the same answer, the second time. So I asked: Is it a DC-10? The agent's response: "Yes". There were several people in line that actually gasped. As far as I know, everyone hopped aboard, and obviously, we made it back just fine.

"simulator training will be expensive"
>Boeing designed 737 MAX to avoid needed training

Tough shit, Boeing. Now you're paying more than you would have if you enabled training for the MAX

Boeing acted shady not disclosing everything and now it's paying for that mistake.
