I like the throat singing and the horse fiddle, that's about the only reason why I made this video. I think it is pretty underrated.

I can't really blame Hollywood for being too dumb to know Huns from Mongols.

dear Turks, please stop with 'Turkic' and 'Turan'

1. The religious mentions were extremely scarce; Huns were not purely Turkic, Nomads mixed heavily, they were also East Asian (prompting CA to make them look monolithically East Asian for some reason), Iranic, Germanic, Slavic the more westerly they went (and before Turkic nomads, there were PIE tribes roaming the steppes on horses so the admixture must've been immense before they even left the Pontic-Caspian Steppe), meanwhile the only words we have of Huns are of IE origin, possibly Slavic, plenty of Hunnic rulers have names that could've been of either Germanic or Turkic origin attesting to the fact that whatever monolithic Turkic identity there MIGHT have been during wars with China, was almost entirely gone by now due to them running out of culturally 'Hunnic' men

2. Huns, Avars, Bulgars, Cumans, the list goes on - they all got culturally wiped out and were fully absorbed by the more numerous tribes around them, because living a nomadic life means you're going to run out of steam sooner or later, and when you do, those that were sedentary and more established are going to swallow you whole - and even if you are NOT running out of steam, you are raiding and diluting your already diverse peoples with other peoples the moment you decide to move with your horse to traverse vast areas - therefore what is 'Turkic'? This is such an abstract term that you have no idea, which is why you claim that people ranging from the Huns to the damn Genghis were Turkic, fully ignoring the East Asian cultures that existed outside the sphere of Turkic influence, fully ignoring frequent cultural clashes and infrequent fusing of these two cultures

Hungarians and Turks are the only ones that retained their language, even then the original Magyar language of what was supposedly Turkic tribe could've been Turkic originally, until it became Ugric - because being simultaneously nomadic and retaining your culture is impossible, therefore calling Huns Turkic is an enormous stretch - we have only semblances of ideas that Hungarians could've been originally Turkic, let alone the damn Huns

Turks today look Mediterranean, Middle-Eastern or Iranic (on top of Islam being the main religion now), and Hungarians are now Christian and are genetically and visibly European (original population likely majorly wiped out by Mongols in the 11th century as well as intermarriage) - that's how fluid your 'GREAT NATIONS' were then... and don't get me started on the concept of nationality, which has nothing to do with ethnicity

all this cultural-linguistic fluidity naturally creates identity crises that current day Turks (it started a century ago, really) go through and I feel with you, but holy cow is it painful to read... you have nothing in common with them anymore and very likely never had - which is why you, a Mediterranean looking person of Islamic faith contributed to the 'muh ancestor' meme
