Although chemicals and neurotransmitters yes roam throughout the central nervous system, but recently discovered some fabrications about seratonin and dopamine depletion being a cause of depression. Also, "broken heart syndrome" or "Takotsubo cardiomyopathy" is a disease of the heart by stressful events. Just because nerves are used to conduct and communicate organs response doesn't mean they are the end-organ of emotions/consciousness/whims/choices, , etc.
