Welcome to the Invokation Akademy Review Session, where I go over all the changes to GITCG from the latest update, and give you my first impressions to get you better prepared for the new metagame.

In the final review session for Version 4.8, we finally get to our 3 new character cards! Each of them comes with it's own unique mechanic - Overcharged Ball, Crystal Shrapnel, and Bond of Life! These are complicated, so make sure you know what they do for when you face these characters on the ladder!

For each character, I'll go in depth on their mechanics and skills, tips and synergies, and provide a sample decklist for you to try!

What is Genius Invokation?

Genius Invokation TCG (GITCG) is a card game inside Genshin Impact! To unlock this game mode, you will need to reach AR32 in Genshin and complete the associated quest. The entire game is free to play.

There's a mistake. Bond of life is applied after all the damage is calculated, meaning that if you use her skill with xiangling burst, bond of life will consider all the 7 damage dealt
It also applies to superconduct piercing damage too. It will give +3 damage on skill which results in 4 bond of life

This patch is such a breath of fresh air.

Great video, but you totally forgot to mention that the bond of life is calculated by *total* damage, meaning it can get buffed by reactions!

This means that with (for example) mona you can get 4 damage (Freeze), which is 2 Bond of Life, which will double to 4 with Talent.

And of course, melt and superconduct will result in even more bond of life gained, making them incredibly potent

I personally really like FO with Lyney, as his summon is really good for setting up reactions, not to mention the power of fatui resonance.

Bennet is also a really good combo, but for me getting BoL on the enemy as soon as possible is usually the best strategy to negate any and all healing they might have

That navia dehya deck was terrible against a Barbara deck, the pyro always got cleansed so I never had any elements to react with ever

Frost Operative also work with the classic Kujou Herald combo where you can maximize her BoL to 5/10 with talent in round 2

I just fought my first Chevreuse deck today and it is fun to fight against, best update in a while tbh

frost operative is probably my favourite right now because I play them in a deck with bennett and lyney (bennett to buff their damage and lyney to clean up if frost op and benny can't finish it themselves)

If I get the full setup off (which is just bennett burst with talent card) if the opponent has pyro aura, frost op's skill does 7 dmg and applies 5 bond of life, 10 with talent card and it's DEVASTATING to those who need on field healing for their DPS (like Neuvilette and Wriothesley) This deck doesn't always work but it's honestly a lot of fun to play so I don't mind the occasional losses

i think navia shrepnals should be sacrificing card draw for the damage not the discard and still get the draw like nothing happened

Eh, they should've made Navia's shrapnel a combat action like Chevy

I think a fair nerf to Crystal Shrapnel would be to make it take 1 Geo dice instead of any element. It severely limits how much you can do with the card in a very simple way.

Finally a patch where the meta isn't complete garbage. If Navia becomes meta then I find it pretty likely lotus will no longer have a near 100% use rate lmao
