Very informative. I love seeing Monteros / Pajeros abroad, especially in my birth country. You covered everything well. I have 33" K02s on my Montero. In the states the Montero got 4.30 gears so I had to put 4.90s out of a Sport in it. The regear makes a big difference, especially on road and climbing up hills off road. Besides the extra torque you want the fan/water pump/alternator/ac compressor/transmission pump spinning up keeping everything charged and cool especially in the California desert. I know someone who put 35s on their Montero (no regear) and it needed a larger transmission cooler just from the wheel size change.

That was a very informative video thank you when I outfitted my dodge pro master adventure van for off-road I chose to use the stock size 2 2575R 16 instead of going to a taller fatter tire. I did not want to change the gear ratio and affect my six speed automatic transmission I did not want to add more rolling resistance and I was willing to live with a skinnier tires rather than the fat ones that a lot of people put on because I don’t see the advantage being dramatic for me I’m not really off road four-wheel-drive capable anyway and so for me it was a good mix to install BFG KO2’s in the original size.

I run 285/75 r16 KM3's on my gen 2 turbo diesel. I think 33's are the perfect size for pajero/montero but the km3's are a particularly heavy tire and you can definitely feel it. I'lll try Radar renegade Mt's next in 285/75r16 as they are the only significantly lighter MT i can find here in Spain.

You should add the 3.15:1 gears from marks4wd. They are a game changer for your blister fender pajero.

Hi from Australia. 🇦🇺
Here in Australia it depends on your status.
4/Camp site 4wd'ers run up to 33" tyres.
3/Then step up to Hard core 4wd'ers that do a little more extreme run up to 37" tyres that all so like to winch up & over what ever laiy in front of them at speed & time factor's.
Then there's the Big Boy's that play with there Rock Crawler buggies & 2/Tuff Dog machines. They run what ever they feel will do the job. 44" is a average size midrange in the ball park.
1/Let's not forget Monster Tuck's

255-85-16 is a excellent size for the average truck that is used off road, unfortunately very little selection is available in this size because people think wider is better. I think wider tires have far more negative’s than positive’s. I see many trucks in Canada and USA that are leveled and lifted and have 20inch and larger rims and tires? I noticed a H2 Hummer one day that had 26inch rims, ( totally ridiculous) Unfortunately most people think they look cool so like everything else it’s not what’s best it’s what the public wants to buy that dictates availablity!

Did you notice any differences switching from the 15 to 16 inch rims? From your other video. I believe they were both 267/75/15 and 265/75/16.

255 looks good IMO with the right wheel. I have a petrol Pajero NL with a 4.90 gears from a diesel Pajjie. I am looking at 255’s.

I recently bought a Nissan Patrol and would love to run 255/85R16 but here in South Africa its an odd size so stock is super scarce and very expensive. Most people in SA want the wider tyre look.
