MDMA, also known as Ecstasy or Molly is the psychedelic that is the closest to getting FDA approval for treatment for PTSD. In this video, I talk about how it will be used.

We did MDA in the 70's and called it the love drug because you could love your worst enemy. It brings a sense of understanding. I can see how it would be helpful.

With MDMA’s ability to increase feelings of compassion, it makes me wonder how MDMA would impact psychopaths, if at all. Would their lack of empathy make the therapy useless or would we find there’s something else going on there? Hmmm….

Psychedelics are just an amazing discovery. It's quite fascinating how effective they are for depression and stress..saved my life.

Taking pharmaceutical grade MDMA with the right therapist/counselor, seems like it can be a life changing experience. Hope it gets approved soon.

I think this is a great idea. As a teenager the few times that I did X really changed me in positive ways. Back then, I was so obsessed with heavy metal and dark, depressing music. Using this party drug and going to rave and listening to dance / pop music was groundbreaking for me to like other more positive and lighthearted music and I think those experiences helped me open up to more compassionate way of seeing myself and others. It really opens up those pathways that make you want to connect with others instead of feeling isolated and alone.

I’ve taken MDMA recreationally for music festivals but it truly does have a way of opening up your mind and allowing you to get past negative emotions. Psychedelics have helped me get through emotional and mental problems. I’m excited for MDMA therapy to be a thing, I think it will help a lot of people.

or, you just don't think the trauma was that bad and you're perfectly fine and you're not repressing any memories, until one day it all comes crashing down and you either sink or swim. if you come out the other side, your entire world will be different, but everyone will expect you to be the same. so don't do what i did, seek help if you were tortured as a small child, you are NOT ok now, i promise you.

This is so interesting. I'm glad that substances like these are finally allowed to be explored. I don't have PTSD but my own experience with MDMA was very surreal.

I've always had depression and it is always in the background of my mind. Some days more or less but it is always there. The one time that i took MDMA, a friend gave it to me. I didn't take a lot of it but I remember just feeling even, like a lot of mental pressure was just gone. I thought, this is what normal people must feel like all the time. I never took it after that for many of the reasons that you started in the video but it was a very surreal experience.

MDMA really changed my social anxiety. After one experience during a dnb festival i became much more open and extraverted. I now enjoy talking so much more then before.

I am EXTREMELY interested in this treatment!!! I worked in mental health in the Navy and we learned about this treatment for veterans coming back from war.

MDMA and Psilocybin saved my life. Unfortunately I had to figure out how to use it on my own through some trial and error, but after being put in the hospital multiple times due to adverse reactions to other meds I had to try something. Being able to access these in a safe, controlled, and guided environment will help a lot of people.

I had debilitating pain after foot surgery. I found a family owned CBD place and it really helped with the pain. Unexpectedly, it also somehow allowed me to clearly see how I was attracting abusive people into my life and I clearly saw how this developed in my childhood. I'm experiencing life in a new healthy and fulfilling way. I'm so grateful. Thanks Dr. Marks for these videos.

MDMA really opened me up emotionally after a pretty shitty childhood. Mushrooms were a really nice way to chill (very occasionally) without harsh side effects. Very encouraging to see the research is moving up a notch. I hope this becomes available in the UK. Without the anti-drug hysteria.

There’s no medication in the history of medication that 1. Is a panacea 2. Works 100% for everyone. With that being said Psychedelic therapy is going to be huge for psychiatric illnesses in the future. I’m currently on a waiting list for psilocybin therapy conducted by a Yale study. For the past three years, I have not been able to function I have cycled through many antidepressants. Talk therapy failed. It sucks that this might be my last hope but hoping it works.

Dr. You're the best. Magic Mushrooms have changed my life.

Note: First two times I got my ass kicked, BIG TIME! thank god I was in therapy and my therapist helped me out big time. It was like opening up all the wounds. Yeah, not fun at all!!

Next two times, it was more manageable but again, without therapy I do not recommend taking magic mushrooms/or any psychedelics on your own, if you've had any significant trauma.
