Thieves break into Oregon fire station, steal equipment

Thousands of dollars worth of investigative equipment was recently stolen from a local fire department.

Why would you put a simple $10 lock on $5, 000 worth of equipment ? ? ?
Use more of our tax dollars and use a more secure lock, or better yet park this vehicle inside a secured building where 24/7 security. Was this equipment insured ? If not why ?
