Motor-sparing wrist blocks are useful for minor hand surgery, or where intraoperative testing of finger movement is desired by the surgeon. The SUPERFICIAL RADIAL NERVE innervates the dorsum of the hand and fingers, and can be easily located at the wrist using the key landmarks of (1) radial artery and (2) brachioradialis muscle.

Thank you very much for this informative video. If you were to do radial artery cannulation at the wrist, would you consider subcutaneous infiltration to target these nerves? Usually the practice is to raise a wheal with lignocaine at the point of needle insertion.

Hello Sir,
I have a superficial radial surgery recently in my hand. Any potential problem or anything I should be worried about?
