The first video plus this one helped me get from Moderate to Open (combine with a little of my own intuition). Thanks a ton, your videos were just what I needed!

Thanks dude! While my entire problem wasn't addressed in the videos you definitely led me down the right path. Ultimately, bridging my modem was the answer and I had no idea that existed before your video, thanks a ton!

before doing this i had never had strict NAT always Moderate. so i went through and added all the ports and now after resetting everything i am now at Strict, so this made my connection worse..

These are pretty good videos, my X1 randomly went into strict over the weekend and I absolutely thought it was my wireless router.  If you're setup is like mine Cable Modem to Wireless Router (D-Link), plug directly into the cable modem to see if you're NAT type is still strict - this will bypass the wireless router to see if that's even the problem.

Mine was, so port forwarding or a static IP assigned via DMZ would not work.  I had to perform a factory reset on my X1 and this resolved my issue thankfully (yes you'll have to re-download games/apps and any previous game updates, it sucks).  Just another step if you absolutely cannot get rid of it.

Also try switching your console to "Energy Saving" mode in the power & options settings, then reset your console, worked for me, it takes longer for the X1 to boot up, but my NAT is now open.

i have a theory about nat problems, i have two ps4s, a ps3 and xbox one. when my router was new i just had a ps4 and i had no nat issues. when my brother got his ps4, eventually i started to get moderate nat on my ps4, then when i started to add more devices to the network (xbox one) the nat went to strict. my conclusion is the network or router doesnt like multiple devices registered on your network. it seemed over time when i added more things to it, things got worse. it just doesn't like it! i even put the ps4 in dmz mode, strangely it got worse.

this was very helpful as was your first video. I too have a "smart" modem/router combo and set the NAT mode to "bridged."

Also, if I test my multiplayer connection it says: Cannot get a teredo IP and when I hold all the triggers and bumpers my detailed NAT information says: your network is behind a firewall (or not connected)

I've spent the last 3 hours trying to get my NAT from STRICT to OPEN and I've failed miserbly, I've seen your videos I've read all the Portforward guides and tried all the steps, that includes Port I've tried it all and I keep failing. I use Portforwards Network Utlity bundle to actually see if my ports are open and they are not I'm actually rather confused,

My modem/router (they're both the same thing) is not in the Portforwards router list which is a bummer my IP is set to public and I'm trying to figure out what the hell I can do any suggestions any help because at this point I'm so tired of not being able to play in certain playlists in Halo5 because of this or being unable to play wth some of my pals.

Hello, my NAT type is strict. It has always been strict on my xbox 360 but with a day trying to fix it I decided to not bother about it and just play with a bit slower internet connection. But now I have a Xbox One and I can't find games anymore. I have tried most of the things people on forums recomment but nothing seem to work. I have even let my xbox be an exposed host. Do you know what I could do next?

I went in and port forwarded my router and I still have a strict NAT, when I look on my xbox one it still says it is behind a port symmetric NAT. I have been trying all different thing for so long. I can't even play a game of multiplayer. I cant chat or party up with friends. Its honestly so frustrating.

I have a Belkin F9K1102v1 Router and I did everything correctly but its still a strict NAT type. Can the IP address for the last digits be anything between 50-100 on ur XBOX ONE, then copy tht to ur information you import for the router port forwarding   or does it have to be specific. Please Help
