"Easy fix" is such a red flag on a listing. Like, if its so easy, why haven't you done it?

I bought a 2001 TVR Tuscan MK1 10 years ago. I only paid 10.500 for it. Repairs summed up to aprox 25.000 until today. Makes it a total of 35 grand. Not really a bargain anymore, but a treat to own and to drive. But: CHEAP CARS ARE NOT CHEAP☝

Sure, you can technically buy the likes of a DB7 for less than 10k, but you REALLY shouldn't.

Nothing more expensive than a cheap British sports car. Signed a Jaguar owner.

Great selection, especially the Chimaera because I bought one a month ago 😍
Very undervalued for what you get.
As with all of these, buy with your head, not your heart and have a slush fund “just in case”.
The TVR’s might have niggly
little things to sort (mainly electrical), but after the chassis, the mechanics are very basic, robust, sensibly priced and easy to spanner on if that’s your thing.
But that sound …… by far the best of the bunch 👌

The green Aston with yellow lipstick is harking back to BRM . Formula one team from the 50/60s

As a TVR owner I would say get one but prefer the later models. No doubt the chimaera would be fun to drive though. Jaguar KXR also a good choice and nice looking too 👍🏻

Aston Martins from waste dumps. TVR's that haven't been started for 10 years. "The engines - if they work, are brilliant" "A good honest car but not perfect"
This video is unintentionally hilarious. I love it.

Lovely options - for the UK. Here in the states, good luck. So many fun cars that never made it to the US.
I did own a '67 MGB back in the late '70's. Miss it to this day.

Having tried them all, I'd say the 4.5 Chimaera was the smoothest, with decent power (285 vs 240 for the 4.0 litre) .

Sounds like a great investment !
1st thing I would do if possible is replace every single part, every single nut and bolt with something made in Japan.
When I was 23 ( 51 years ago, i bought a used 1970 Rover 3500S.
Beautiful car, the leather smell in the interior was exquisite. There were only 700 or so sent to the US and
only about 250 left on the road.
What in indescribable nightmare for a 23 year old.

I know you weren't 'promoting' any of the cars you showed but they were all interesting in their own way. One thing to mention is insurance category letters changed a while ago (not sure when?) so it is worth 'matching' them with the current ones. It is possible to get the category marker removed by a Government registered examiner at a cost of around £200.00. You would need to weigh up the age of the car and when the repair was done to see if that avenue was worth going down. The examination is very comprehensive and they are entitled to take the car apart if they feel the need to do so hence the price. I think the Bentley R would be a great car to replace the Merc with Jack just up your street I think! Thank you for the video, food for thought for anyone with 10k to spend and yes go and see the car before you part with the money. 👍👍

I test drove the Elan when it came out. The advertising line was that 90% of drivers could use 90% of the performance 90% of the time. Sounds great. What it meant for me was lots of acceleration, lots of grip and on-rails handling. It would go down a country road as fast as anything. But the accessible performance and lack of drama were combined with the sound of an old washing machine and absolutely no excitement. If you went fast enough to make it interesting you would be well beyond sensible and you'd either bend it or lose your licence in short order. Didn't buy.

Cat D is also “stolen and recovered “. I had an old Landie MY04 that was `cat D’ and it had been found in a shipping container. Needed new wheels and a dented front wing fixed. Otherwise perfect. Kept for 14 years and all OK…. Don’t dismiss them..I also bought a near new Skoda Citigo for my son with 3750 miles on it back in 2016. Also running perfectly now with over 60k. The dealer spoofed me with the airbag light which I just ended up replacing in seat for £90 second hand. Otherwise a nice car with big discount… that unsurprisingly my son has knocked, dinged and banged anyway… 🤦🏻‍♂️

Great video with nice sugestions but the AM DB7 you really shound't buy at those prices, trust me, I Known! ;-) And the Bentley is probably similar. Hahaha I hope you get to review the DB7 i6 but try and get a sorted one, it's not an easy task. Good luck and keep it up. Thanks!

As a TVR owner I’m biased, but the chimaera’s v8 sound is a thing of beauty and the drive is phenomenal, particularly as the engine is quite far back.

Given my time again, I’d make the same choice and get another (facelift) chimaera.

This is the kinda thing i do of an evening. A British sports (ish) car id add is the mg ztt 260. I had an mg ztt 2.0 cdti a few years back and absolutely loved it. Was actually quite well bolted together and almost a bit germanic. Shares a load of bmw parts too. I think the 260 sounds epic and is just weird enough to be cool.

I'd go for a Lotus Excel and hope the Toyota parts improved the ownership experience. An MG TF might be another alternative.
