The feel and sound of turning the key on a 90's honda can never be forgotten.

thats a clean security system! my crummy ol 97 200sx was stolen from my apartment complex in college... cops found it a few days later at a local casino filled with random clothes, used syringes, and a fairly new roadside assistance kit 😂 that conscientious heroin-addict joyrider

"Now I can sleep well"
The thieves: "Okay, we lift this really lightweight car on three. One, two-"

easier to just wire the fuel pump to a hidden switch. my grandpa had hidden buttons for the battery and fuel pump. He even left the key in it because he was that confident. Never had his cars stolen. Guy had balls

Hearing "old Honda" in reference to a 97 civic was a donkey kick to the nuts of my soul.

“You’ll need to remove the tamper free screws”
“It wasn’t that bad”
That’s hilarious 😆

We installed something like this in my friends ef hatch. We even called it a ghost key. It was 3 switches in 3 different spots that had to be flipped in a certain order or the car wouldnt start. Relay logic was a little weird but fun once we figured it out.

Seeing a civic start with a button is definitely not a scene I expected to see in my life but it's freaking epic

Honda makes beautiful, reliable cars, I had a 1981 Civic hatchback in 1992 and it never left me down.

Id rather have a Killswitch than lose the standard ignition. Turning the key on a Honda is the best feeling

This is push button start. It is not a that much of a theft deterrent if at all. I would say that detach wheel is a way way better theft deterrent. If you left the original ignition, you would still have a steering wheel lock. I had a hidden kill switch, I would crank the wheel, I could then remove the key and then lock the steering wheel. I left my car running all the time knowing that if someone did take the car it would just end up back where I left it.

I installed custom stereos and alarms in the late 90's and early 2000's. Which were the golden years. I used to install hand made ignition interlocks with a Bosch relay and the cigarette lighter. You had to push in the cigarette lighter and turn the key to start. 😂

This is actually a brilliant idea but another deterrent I had when I owned a civic was I’d leave the ECU exposed and just take it in with me at night

I love this car. It's awesome. I get to drive a new one every week.

In the 90s when cars were getting stolen alot, car alarms with multiple kill switches became available. These same companies such as viper, still make great car alarms with 3 point kill switches.
