That PSU ATX transfer to adapter board will be usable in my case to test PSU's when diagnosing PCs not turning on or when they're turning off suddenly, sometimes a faulty PSU not providing the correct 5V, 12V and 3.3V is the cause. It's awesome. I'll get it.

The first item, the usb adjustable power supply has been demonstrated elsewhere and I’ve seen folk complain that they couldn’t get up to the full 24v - I’m pleased to see yours was working well. There is a version which comes in a plastic case with red or green leds I believe.

Your usb meter measures current and voltage from usb supply.
If your dc converter doubles the voltage, current it deliver is half what is seen on usb meter. Or a bit less due to losses.

The usb psu is neat. Would have been good if it showed the voltage when off as well as on though so you could check that the voltage was correct before powering a connected circuit.

Re the ATX adapter: I used one of these years ago to power a few pi's in a cluster and the 12 rail to power fans controlled by thermistors for a quick, cheap, reliable rig 👍

I used the frequency / duty cycle frequency generator to drive the LED backlight on a broken TV after removing the LCD panel. Makes a nice dimmable, via the duty cycle function, light source using the power supply from the TV, which also powers the signal generator. Works great!

think it's okay to say this. At 7:34, brother, you can't measure it like that. The USB tester shows 5V, 500mA—just take it as it is (2.5W). You can't calculate power after that point without measuring the actual current flow at that point. Hope that makes sense!

if you start with 5 V at 500 mA (which is 2.5 W), boosting the voltage to 8 V would ideally result in about 312.5 mA output (since 8 V × 312.5 mA ≈ 2.5 W), assuming 100% efficiency. In reality, efficiency losses mean the output current will be slightly lower.

This is why you see that when the voltage goes up in a boost converter, the current decreases correspondingly.
