Breeo all the way. All American, durable x2, cleanup is easy with a wet dry vac, and their accessories are fantastic. Only negative is the price.

Great information...For me, its the Solo Ranger 2 for my RV stove and the Breeo X24 (Corten) for my house patio stove. The Corten is a great addition for that Rustic homestead look, but is no fun to haul for camping. So if you want stainless I would chose the Solo, easier on the pocketbook too.

Ok, I got the 24 Breeo in I have done several burns. It's bad to the bone in quality. I have a deflector also a cover. I got 15% off the total setup. I clean the unit after every burn. I am satisfied with it so far
I will put it to the test for the holidays I will do a burn every day. I am about 200 bucks into firewood purchase first-world problems. I thought I would get more radiant heat with the deflector.

Great video, thank you! I have the Solo Bonfire w/heat deflector, Ranger w/heat deflector, Mesa XL w/heat deflector, Mesa (both Mesa's in ceramic) and a few Solo Campfire stoves. The Solo ceramic coating is great! It doesn't discolor, just turns a tad deeper in color. I've never had an issue with any of my Solo's. Although I do like the rustic look of the Breeo I can't speak of the Breeo since I cannot afford them! A friend has a Breeo and I have seen the fire output on both though and IMO I do like the Solo fires much better and cleanup is a breeze, minimal to none. Solo stoves are especially great with Pellets. I may purchase a Breeo down the road, but for now I'm happy with Solo. As for their customer service... They've always been very responsive with any help I've needed. To be honest, I've never really needed to contact them in the way of warranties. Hopefully I will never have to. Tip for those that have the Mesa and the Mesa XL and want to use it like a camp stove... You can purchase the "cooking ring replacement" ring from Solo (5.1in) for the Mesa and (7in.) to use on the Mesa XL.

Breeo is better. The metal is heavier and holds onto more of the heat. That's why it feels hotter, it's the infrared heat coming off it.

Love my breeo. We cook on it all the time. Our friends have a solo, and often come over to the breeo dinner experience!

Thanks for the informative video. My mind was made up during the cleaning portion of the video. Solo for me.

I purchased my solo stove bonfire 2 years ago at my Marine Corps Exchange and got a great price for it during Christmas sale along with cooking attachments, it's been great to use with a 27 and 20 inch wok and a comal for tacos.

I just ordered the Breeo X24, a heat deflector, and a cover also. It came in 90 bucks above the Solo. I will have to do a little work cleaning. But more steel means this thing has to last longer. It weighs about 20 pounds more than the other brand which means something. I got the stove in started rusting quickly because of the amount of rain we have had. I yet to put a fire in it. We will see from there in one week.

I went with Breeo X24. Decision was easy. It is a one time purchase. Thing is a tank and will last forever. I have the stainless steel lid. Other than that, I don’t ever cover it. Cleaning out the ash is part of the ritual and I don’t mind it. I do it every other fire. You can simply move the ash away from the vents for the next fire and it performs the same. Also, I’ll be buying the stainless ring soon so I can drop the unit into a brick surround.

I do agree that Solo has better accessories. I own the cooking rods and will eventually buy the poker and grabber for moving the wood.

I already own two fire pits, but if TBL is dropping a video, I am watching it! I am a Wing It and Ding It kind of guy.

Breeo build quality is choice but airflow requires more tending of the fire. Solostove build quality is good and airflow is far superior. If Breeo could improve airflow and clean out process I’m in!

I have a stainless Solo Bonfire in a Solo Surround that sits covered when not in use so I don’t really care how it looks. I have the surround just because of my dogs.

I also have the Solo Mesa XL in black ceramic coating and it’s held up really well. But when I’m not using it, I move it under my covered patio.

Love my solo stove! I’d purchase the heat deflector for colder months.

I bought a corten steel X24 about 4 years ago. Reason for the choice at that time — most of which would still apply today (though both companies have expanded their offerings substantially). Your actual testing aside, at the time most people were saying that the breeo put out more heat to the sides. I didn’t really plan on cooking on it but it was nice to know that was an option (not as much a distinction today). I preferred the look to the stainless design. And, I liked that it was made in the US.

My pit rusted more quickly than most, I’m guessing in part due to the two golden retrievers swimming in our salt water pool. While I like the look it’s continuing to happen and the material is flaking off quite a bit (with more rust underneath). It’s going to take a while to rust through given how heavy the material is but over time I do think it’s going to cause some structural damage. Also, you do need to put it on some type of stand or you will do damage to the pavers or whatever surface it’s on.

I’m really surprised by your testing of the heat deflector. We’ve all been amazed at how significant the difference is when you put it in place. I would consider it a very worthwhile accessory.
