Speaking as a Black woman, it is not a controversy in the Black community regarding this issue. Most of us in the Black community know that Kamala identified largely with her Indian side of the family while growing up, because she was raised by her mother. There is nothing wrong with that. The problem most Black people have with Kamala is that she picks and chooses which side of her heritage she is going to identify with when it is politically convenient and beneficial to her at the moment. She was referred to as the First Indian American Senator when she was sworn in as the Senator from California. Now that she wants to be President, the liberal media, celebrities, etc. are all out here talking about making her the first Black woman to run for President (that is B.S., because it was Shirley Chisholm). Plus, she thinks that she will get 90 to 95 percent of the Black vote to win the Presidency; she is delusional if she believes that. Right now she is polling at 60 to 65 percent of the Black vote. President Biden won 87 percent of the Black vote in 2020, and President Obama won 95 percent of the Black vote in 2008. Black people are waking up and are no longer falling for identity politics. We are voting based on policies espoused by politicians and how these policies benefit our finances and our families. I will be voting for Trump this November.
