California Fire Latest: Monday morning update

Here's the latest information on the wildfires burning in Southern California as of 7a Monday, Jan. 13.

California fires have wreaked havoc on Los Angeles as crews battled several massive blazes, including the Palisades Fire, Eaton Fire, Hurst Fire, Kenneth Fire, Sunset Fire, Lidia Fire and Woodley Fire. Areas impacted included the Pacific Palisades, Altadena, Pasadena, Sylmar, Encino, Brentwood, Santa Monica, Hollywood Hills, West Hills, Acton and parts of Ventura County.

Let's not forget the people in North Carolina who after months are still sitting in devastation living in tents and the weather is ice cold there now the Amish from Pennsylvania went there to build tiny houses thank God for the Amish

I was evavuated for two weeks from my home during the Dixie fire in No. Calif, and I don't quite understand why people are so anxious to get back and see what's happened to their homes. When a major event like this happens you just get in the way of the fire crews and the police. So find shelter elsewhere and be patient. Witht hese dangerous winds and the internal fire storms that fire causes all by itself events are unpredictable. They will let you know when it's safe to return.


My family went through WWII and lost everything except the clothes on our backs and we learned that while it is painful to lose all your precious poseessions, as long as you and your family are alive that's really all that matters. The rest can eventually be sorted out even if it's traumatic and takes time. In the meantime educate yourself about why and how this happened and when you are back on track with your life make your voice heard loud and clear so it doesn't happen again.

My cousin is down there fighting the fires, we are from Elk Grove near Sacramento. He told my uncle its the craziest fire he's wvery dealt with and he's been doing this for about 6 years now.

What's the use of having fire hydrant's if there is no water in them to use them? Put water in the them so the fire department can put the fire's out. Also put water in the fire trucks. They need to those tanks in the firetrucks to hold water.

I was shocked to here americans live in wooden houses in california..in an area known for fires and earthquaked. They need to give that up and live in steel and concrete apartment buildings that are strong against both. Why apartments? Houses will be too costly.

They're saying there's many homeless that live in the hills and a lot of times they start fires to stay warm and then of course you have your arsonist
