Great vid Ruslan. A friend of mine actually ran Elevation’s YouTube for a while. He loved Furtick’s teaching but said that there wasn’t much accountability for him within the church structure. He appoints his own board of overseers (fellow megachurch pastors that decide his salary) and seemed like a distant and prestigious figure that some in the church were afraid to criticize. The signs are there for sure.

I just want to say, as someone who likes Elevation Worship and as someone who used to listen to Steven Furtick, I just want to thank you for doing this stuff, you're not a hater, you're just looking out for fellow brothers and sisters. I think the biggest issue is that he doesn't seem to be willing to have conversations with those who have shared concerns. If those who are raising these questions are wrong, he should be willing to engage and respond in humility to bring clarity (provided those raising the questions are doing so in a spirit of love and concern). Regardless of what you may think of Bethel, at least they tried responding to concerns by putting out a podcast series. It doesn't seem like Furtick has made any kind of effort (although I really hope that changes).

I am a Christian and I am a “fan” of Steven Furtick. I catch him all the time in details that may be questionable at best or unbiblical at worst, but I usually am able to find the overall message is good or at least applicable in context. At the same time this is the best critical piece I have seen on him. I agree with this video and we should as believers do our best to understand things as fully and truthfully as possible. Steven Furtick shoots from the hip and is an emotionally driven and passionate person and he only has so much time to respond to everyone. IMO we need men like him to bring the message and he does much more service than any disservice. His “thinking out loud” approach is raw and probably not always filtered enough, but he brings it more than most ever could. He gets minds and hearts stirring. Even this video came out to clarify things that he may have misspoken. I will continue to support men like Steven Furtick because they get things done and they reach “the world” and the youth where they are. Instead of making them jump through all the hoops of organized religion. I write this with best intentions. God bless.
