China’s climate change push raises job loss fears

The United States is hosting a two-day virtual summit on combatting climate change.
At least 40 countries are taking part, including China, the world's biggest emitter of greenhouse gases.
President Xi Jinping has pledged to fight global warming, but the government continues to build new coal plants.
But some people in China fear moving towards greener sources of energy could risk jobs and economic recovery.

Green investments creates jobs. Even if not enough jobs and opportunities are created, the world will always be happy to provide funds and assistance for countries going in the green direction. Just ask. Seems strange that Xi is approving all of these coal power plant projects when he pledged to turn China into a climate neutral or net minus emitter in the future.
