In this video we review the Callaway Chrome Soft. This is an extremely popular golf ball. How will this premium ball match up with the ProV1? We test it out here.

Nice review! I bought 2 x of the previous generation balls at golf town here in Canada... My feelings on this ball 1) they are great 2) they are very similar to the Srixon Q Star tour (which I like in the spring and late fall) as I am a short hitter myself. They behave nicely on the greens which is good for an aspiring handicap player (11-7 handicaps) with moderate swing speeds. My only complaint is in the summer they are far too soft and feel a little "long" one the face as they are a 75 compression ball much like the QST. I generally switch when gets hot to the Z Star or Pro v1 when the temps here rise. Nice video MSH

My favorite for my game are Srixon Q star tours. Maybe it’s mental but they tend to go where I want them to more often.

thanks for doing these. I may have to go all PGA pro and get a ball fitting.

Great video I like the chrome soft truvis. I also seem to find the one tree on the course. I just got the Snell MTB-X I think it’s a great ball maybe try that one next it’s a great price but you can only buy online from Snell

Love the content! Have you done a video with the Callaway erc soft? Wilson triad is another. I play both those balls most of the time. Thanks

Thanks for the video review. At one time there was a quality control issue with Chrome Soft I believe. I never had the skill to tell the difference if there was one. Good golf ball but will save money and use the Super Soft based on my capabilities. Interesting your GAP wedge is a 48 vs a 50 or 52. 48 has to be close to your PW. Just 2-3 degrees difference, correct?

These are really good balls. I love when I find one, but I won’t pay $50 for a dozen. Wouldn’t make that much difference in my scoring. I like the way you swing and play based on watching 2 of your videos. I hit a 7 iron 140 +/- a few yards.

What about an older golf ball? Like Nike or Wilson vs something new. Thank you!

For an amateur, it's just ridiculous to spend this kind of money on a ball. Of course, far too many people do it. I pick up lost balls here and there at a really cheap executive course I play at....for short game practice...and pick up a hell of a lot of prov1, prov1x, tp5, tp5x, Chrome Soft...and other premium balls. Just ridiculous throwing away of what are clearly very amateur golfers. People who think money = performance...and that is largely a pile of crap....unless you're playing pro level shots that require massive spin rate.
