Half pet, half boomerang.
Hours of fun.

The human urge to both pet, and yeet anything that breathes, remains undefeated.

These are NOT beginner pets. They're highly social, do better in large groups, require a LOT of attention and affection, are nocturnal, noisy, and easily get depressed if you're not doing everything just right. They really shouldn't be pets as taken outside of their natural environment they don't thrive well at all. If you're good at raising them good for you but any good owner should know enough to not recommend them to anyone.

My mom had one as a kid. It would escape its cage climb in the vents to her room and bite her toes while she was sleeping then immediately run back to its cage when she woke up

They will follow you around like a puppy. They are nocturnal, and don't like sunlight. They become active at night. It used to sleep on my chest at night, then go for a wander, and come back. I had to go away for two days, and I left it enough to eat, and drink. Unfortunately, it died. They need constant company, I was told, and can die from fretting.

They’re also get very depressed easily if they’re alone too. I’ve heard accounts of them self harming unfortunately. Best to either get a companion or spend more time with them.

A warning for those thinking of getting these as pets. They are *extremely* social, to the point where they can quite literally die from depression and loneliness. So basically they either need a playmate or you need to basically be a stay at home pet owner.

I was fortunate enough to be gifted 2 of them, but I was unfortunately entirely too young with no knowledge of how to care for them. They are extremely needy. I was great with their diet, but I unfortunately went through a bad breakup and had to work 14 hour days to afford my apartment and didn't let them out of their (well sized) cage for days at a time. One of them took it horribly and got extremely depressed to the point he stopped eating, I nursed him back with literal days of hand feeding and observation. Do not fall for these videos if you aren't up for a huge responsibility. They are also nocturnal and make alot of noise at night. Thankfully I had a friend that could take them and give them the attention they deserve.

Dont ever get just one. These little guys are REALLY social and they get depressed fast if left alone.

What amazing and precious little beings! Must be such a joy to be around them. But just please let them be free! Unless absolutely necessary for them to be taken out of their natural habitat!!

They basically start seeing you as their own personal tree that also gives them cuddles, that is why they always come back to their human. It's the same thing as how rats and hamsters like hiding inside your closed hands, except these adorable little dudes just cling on anywhere they can reach.

Remember to interact with them a ton or get them a companion! They are very social creatures so they need a ton of interaction to stay energized and happy
