I am old enough to remember when the USA Supreme Court did not conclude that the USA Constitution is unconstitutional.

I really hope Jack Smith gets to use Thomas' ridiculous logic to prove that Trump and Thomas have no clothes

If a president is immune from prosecution for "high crimes and misdemeanors" if they are considered "official acts" then under sparation of powers, the congress could not impeach a sitting president for "high crimes and misdemeanors". The only rational interpretation, which is consistent with the SCOTUS ruling, is that if a president can be impeached for it, the president can be prosecuted for it. If "official acts" include breaking the law, where in the US statutes or constitution is the president granted "official" permission to break the law?

As a german I can tell you that making your head of state immune to everything is a bad idea.

Aileen Cannon is so unqualified that she has been overruled by the highly conservative 11th circuit court 3 times so far in this case alone. No wonder Trump nominated her only after he lost the election in 2020. She doesn't even try to pretend to be impartial and should honestly be barred from ever serving as a judge. It's pretty obvious that she is hoping Trump will nominate her to the supreme court and I have no doubt that Trump has communicated that to her through his allies.

Judge Cannon needs to be charged as an accomplice after the fact to the document stealing case. She can either plead total incompetence or admit her bias.

I'm a big fan of Jack Smith doing the work, and forcing the Supreme Court to either prove they are well and truly in the bag for Trump, or admit they made a massive mistake.

9:04 - if you can’t be President without doing crimes, we should probably rethink the whole Presidency thing.

I used to think Lex Luthor being elected POTUS as a silly comic book plot line that could never happen.

So if I understand this correctly, they argued that the special council appointment was illegal because it wasn't approved by congress but there were several other special councils appointed the same way that they didn't object to. So wouldn't everything found by those special councils be fruit of the poisoned tree?

Poor communities have been sounding the alarm about corrupt judges for decades.

It is a conflict of interest that judges that you yourself appointed can decide or influence your case. I don't see how this is permissable. It's like being best friends with the executioner who decides not to kill you.

I will never understand how there can be so much blatant treasonous action that goes unpunished

This whole immunity thing is insane. Can whoever has the power to push forward new ammendments to the constitution push one forward that simply states "All citizens and legal residents of the US are subject to the laws of the US at all times."

This all started because Americans (Republicans specially) chose to nominate, and later elect, a person with no qualms for committing crimes and abusing power. Where have we seen that backfire for the country? Oh, right, Russia, China, North Corea, Venezuela, Spain... Personal character does matter.

If an ordinary citizen can be accused of and convicted of trespassing on federal grounds, among a list of other charges, the person who inspired them- and hundreds of other people- to do it should also be convicted.

Everything I hear about Justice Thomas makes me dislike more and more. He's one of those guys that future generations will look back at as someone responsible for many of the horrors they face in their time. Kinda like what we do with Thatcher and Reagan.

How would the president have immunity when his duties have nothing to do with elections or certifications

Supreme Court needs to have term limits. No other branch of government has any positions that is lifetime appointment or till they decide to retire.
