Dr Disrespect Questions WARZONE ANTI CHEAT RICOCHET

Warzone announced details on their new Ricochet anti-cheat yesterday to combat the massive hacking problem the game faces...but will it actually keep the cheaters out?

Dr Disrespect asked that very question on his YouTube stream...saying what if Ricochet launches will all this fanfare...but then the anti-cheat doesn’t fix the hacking problem in Warzone. The whole idea had Dr Disrespect laughing, but he did eventually say that he hoped it would work, because a triple A company like Activision promoting a Warzone anti-cheat this much would be insane to do it unless they had a ton of confidence in it.

Activision also announced that the Ricochet anti-cheat should also be able to detect plug in devices like CronusMAX on PC controllers, which should end hacking accusations against Warzone pros like Zlaner or Huskerrs, although apparently they are having some issue implementing those kind of measures on playstation and xbox.

So what do you think...will the Ricochet anti-cheat actually keep the hackers out of Warzone...or will it get cracked or bypassed by cheaters in short order? Ricochet launches with the Pacific update to Warzone shortly after Call of Duty:Vanguard releases on November 5th, so we won’t have long to find out just how effective it really is at keeping the cheaters and hackers out.

They should have silently dropped this. Then once everyone got banned release a tweet that said "btw we introduced ricochet last night"

I can't wait till Esports talk makes the first video showing a hacker on Warzone even when the anti cheat is out.

kernel-level just refers to the ability to access protected regions of memory that normally would not be accessible by the anti-cheat, allowing better cheat detection. The downside is now this anti-cheat effectively has unrestricted permissions and opens the door to security threats if the anticheat were to become compromised in some way.

Even if it works, I'll still yell out HACKER! Whenever I get stomped lol.

Imagine putting more effort into a trailer for an anti cheat than the total anticipated budget the previous year

Bet it only works on stopping unlocking bundles and new weapons

Kernel level permissions to a company like Activision and their historically shitty servers? Aaaand everyone's financials are tied to these accounts? Incoming DISASTER.

As a developer myself I’m happy to see they’re using machine learning algorithms to help solve the issue. I think that’s the right approach. Not sure if that was the norm already though among other anti-cheats

Man the hacking killed this game last summer. The definition of insanity: doing the same thing over and over expecting a different result

The fact that there making it like some sort of game release is insane to me

Activision: " Yeah we just want to be able to give the cheat developers enough time to figure this out before we actually launch it"

Imagine if somebody leaked the driver early...

If this is true, then not even a spoofer will save the hackers. It is funny how the cheaters will say "it's just a game", but they pay big money to cheat on "just a game" RIP hackers.

As long as it doesn't crash my PC or the game, I'm all for this! Hopefully Activision has a tech partnership with MSFT and other vendors so the Ricochet dev team can continuously update it.

Anti cheat doesn't mean there will be no cheaters. It means the cheaters are going to have a lower average time of use before banning. And all it has to do to be successful is make the cost of cheating go up a little. There is a curve to these cheats. Just a few more $$ and most of the people using them won't. Even a few more, and more people won't. If they can reduce the cheating by half or a little better than half, it will be a good start. And I think they will do that and then some.

Imagine trusting a brand that has their logo with a round with its casing still on it ricocheting.

Question: Why would they reveal the anticheat system and functions before releasing it. wouldn't the cheat providers be prepared or smth
