In our world, the 2000 US presidential election went to George W. Bush through a SCOTUS case, making him one of the presidents elected to win an electoral majority but not by voters. What if that wasn't the case? In this alternate world, Al Gore doesn't focus on Florida in his electoral campaign and subsequently win his home state, enough to tip the vote.
