My tip is estate sales! You can check online where they will be, they are so much cheaper than thrift stores, and usually have a sale day where things are 50% off. I got a tip from someone who regularly helps run estate sales and this one in particular the person had been collecting vintage clothes back to the 60s. It was INSANE. Some people literally showed up to buy in bulk to resell because there was so much and there still was a lot left over. So do some research and check out estate sales! Plus they are fun if you like hearing about history because sometimes people like to tell you about a piece and that just makes it so much more meaningful and sentimental!❤

As a millenial that enjoys thrifting for 14 years or more, I do some of the things you mentioned but some others were news to me and quite helpful ^_^

I'm in europe soooo here is some stuff I know about thrifting here becose it's a lil diferent than in the US
1 Germany does not have thriftstores, vintage shops and outlets yes but your usual thrift no
2 The smaller and more desorganisedthe thrift the better the finds
3 be friendly with the people at the thrift both the buyers and workers becose the thrifts tend to be a limited number and everyone remembers and know about eachother
4 Follow the social media ac of the thrift if it has one to know when new stuff is comeing or sales are happening
5 adding to 4 look at the window/dor of the thrift there are always anouncements about the same things from 4
6 add to 3 if workers know you and like you they might have some stuff stored for you (or if you are like me and go every week and become friends with the cool old lady who runs the shop you'll have cool spoons as a gift on your birthday )
7 if a older lady in a thriftstore tells you something you listen, they give great advice and not only about thrifting and you help if they need any.
8 admire fashionable people
9 be ready to see people just casualy entering in with their dogs/leash trained cats (saw that once) or the shop migh have a pet that just showed up one day or the shop took in for diferent reasons ( a thrift in my city has a hedgehog just chilling sometimes in the shop or the garden they made for him and his name is Coco )
10 afternoon from 1 to 4 is a good time to thrift becose teens and adults are still busy and it's just you and the gangs of grandmas
UNLESSS IT'S SUMER

Bonus condition tip: Check the inside crotch/but area of pants thoroughly before you get involved, ok. I have SEEN things. No joke. This has become a reflex after a couple freaky experiences.
