This is a great video. Super quick and love the tip about being able to read in a low light room.

0:30 Low Light Plants:
-No direct sunlight.
-Rule of thumb - if you can comfortably read without straining your eyes, that is a low-light area.
Examples: Pothos, peace lily, philodendrons

0:57 Medium Light Plants:

-Filtered or Indirect Sunlight. Closer to a window but not right next to it. A few hours of natural light through the day. (West or North Facing windows, mostly West).
Example: Snake plant, money plant, monstera

1:43 Bright Lights / Bright Lights - Indirect Plants:
Bright-indirect - a little further away from window. Will get sunlight for majority of the day (South / East facing window). Putting it too close to the window in the summer and spring months can burn the leaves.
Examples: Cactuses, rubber trees, succulents

Thanks Roselle!

I’m a soil scientist and i just did a video on this as well. For northern climates in the winter put your plants nice and close. The window does act as a filter unfortunately!

Could you explain more about indoor
“bright-indirect light”? I’m a new mom to an (unknown) house plant that is full grown and has many blooms making it look like a calla lily!
