Lidl Parkside Wire Stripper review and comparison

I bought the cheap (£4.99) Parkside wire strippers from Lidl this morning and thought I would show you what they were like.

I've got the second device you showed, mine cost more than £7.99 but brilliant device, save me time changing 12 (so far) 12V recessed halogens for GU10s.

Nice honest review. 👍👍👍 Have many cable stripper but I go back to my Wihua side cutter with 1.5 and 2.5 stripper. Love the £7.99 one as I use mine for twin and earth all the time. Even up to 4mm. I was going to buy one of these on eBay from a seller for £10 postage included but now I won’t. Maybe go for the Knipex. 👍👍👍 Best regards,

I saw this yesterday and I thought to myself, That looks handy but I thought it was a bit steep £££ for what it is and wondered if I could get a cheaper version on eBay and I also all ready have a decent pare of wire stripper's....
but looks pretty good thanks for the review!

Hi Ben, that's an interesting, and possibly not brilliantly engineered/developed product, but it could have it's uses for controlled cutting into the outer insulation without nicking the inner insulation. which can be a pain at times - like you, I tend to do a shallow cut and then bend the cable to break the insulation off.

Nice simple little tool, I use my teef though (haven't been able to say that word properly since starting factory maintenance work and coming across lots of armoured cable)

I've got the £4.99 tool (which I think is ok), but I now want the £7.99 tool!! lol
