I loved the original episode. I remember when James came into the 1st episode.

I grew up reading the books and am not a big fan of the new series. It has lost a lot of the humor to build up Helen as a strong independent woman and making him pine after her as someone else's girl the whole first season. I prefer more of James dealing with the quirkiness of the farmers and all the cases and Tristan while his courtship with Helen was more straightforward.
