Fixing a common error with CSV files and QuickBooks Online
Показать описание
If you find yourself needing to manually import transactions into QuickBooks Online, we always recommend using a .QBO file if possible.
.QBO files are formatted to be imported directly into QBO without any additional editing or formatting of the data.
If your bank does not make the data available as a .QBO file, another popular choice is to use a .CSV file.
Every bank formats their .CSV files a little differently, so you may have to edit the spreadsheet to make it compatible with QuickBooks.
One thing I've seen a lot lately is a bank exporting all of the information into one column in the spreadsheet. The bank transaction date, amount, and description are all combined into one column.
This will not upload into QuickBooks so you'll need to re-format.
This video shows you how to efficiently re-format in Excel. This will get the file compatible with QuickBooks so you can import it and move forward with your bookkeeping.
