Basically you are describing life in Canada LOL. Man those big old houses you are showing are gorgeous. Beautiful neighbourhoods!

We lived in Minnesota over 50 yrs.
We lived in Detroit Lakes and the snow was so deep some years it covered our car.
I would be causitious in Duluth of the hills driving in them. You will need a decent car.
Cold is not fun but doable.
Heating a large house is spendy.
Those things I would be leery of more .

I visit Duluth a few times a year. I live in southern Minnesota. I don’t know how you guys get up there hills. I stay at canal park and never go to the down town casino or go down town. I love watching the ships.

Woosie! I live here, and the beauty outweighs anything. It snows a lot. I ratger put up with snow tgen hurricaine, earth quakes Tornados. You dress for the weather. The Lake is great. It nicks out a lot of sever weather. And cool wikd life, awesome parks and hiking. Yah Diwntown is sketch thanks to that last Mayor that dud a horrible job and told the police to back off. Hopefully the new Mayor will get things going. And you can always get on a plane to visit a warmer climate. Come to Duluth it's awesome.

I live halfway up the Hill. The deer are thick, bold, and plentiful here. There was an older doe and her twins licking my tires yesterday evening when I came out to go to the grocery store. I had to shew them away so that I could back out of the drive. 🤣

The skunks are terrible, though. Don’t leave garbage in the can overnight outside. You WILL have a mess to clean up the next morning. The grey squirrels are worse. Make sure your eves are secure because those bushy tailed demons will get inside your home and chew up your wiring.

I lived up here in Lake County, MN. We mostly doing our shopping in Duluth. Yes, leaders from educated society, to Christian faith including politician are failing the citizen in northern MN. Lacking no affordable housing, a huge problem...
