I was watching this in a doctor’s waiting room, and the “fart symphony” at the end made for an embarrassing giggle-fit. Thank you so much for that.

me: "I should try to do some simple crafty stuff while High."
moments later: "Behold, where once I had one whole mini, I now have FOUR destroyed parts"

I kind of noticed that Jay inadvertently painted his Death Guard in the same color scheme as Heironymus Bach’s many paintings of hell (the blues, greens, yellows and oranges) and I think it’s really fitting

Wow, you are one of the few youtubers who consistently makes me laugh and your attitude towards the 40k hobby is outstanding. Keep up the good work!!

Me: Spills multiple bottle of nuln oil trying to be very careful, fully sober

EoB: Paints a mini with 100x more still than I could, while inebriated

It started with just one model, and now, three years later, he has an entire Death Guard army with Mortarion himself. Let that be a lesson to everyone: Allowing just even one spore of rot will eventually corrupt an entire person.

Love this, the comparison to Rembrandt and old masters is spot on. The “evy metal” style has a lot to answer for for encouraging everyone to follow that one style of miniature painting but you’ve shown how awesome the results can be with a different outlook and some artistic flair

I've been slowly working my way through some orks, not trying to create a squad, just enjoy each mini. I think this approach might suit orks, they're tattered and grimy too.

that would make for a good alpha legion scheme IMO. I think between the blue and yellow/green colour it looks like it's a transition due to the light, which is what I always expect their armour to do anyway (have that two tone thing going on)

I always keep a couple of death guard models around in case of a creative block. You can go crazy on them and thet will pretty much always turn out interesting.

I love this paintjob so much, helped inspire my plague marine paint scheme and I keep coming back to this video. Seriously such a fantastic paintjob, I think its my favorite of yours

Awesome! Reminds me of a game my wife and I play where we draw a randomish shape and hand the page to the other person to turn the shape into something.

also dude, that's how I paint as well, only in between stages of adding the home made washes, I dry brush in highlights (before I even start the washes as well TBH) ofc some minis aren't suited for this, but most GW stuff is highly detailed plastic, and if you dry brush properly it looks great (Thanks Tyler Mengel, this guy taught me everything I use in my modern painting methods)

and like you say, you work light to dark. adding darker colour washes to shadow sides and undersides and what have you.

with me this started as recess shading, and then I got bolder as time went on to start spreading the paint around a bit more. now I mix like 5 washes on a plague marine. as long as your base is light, you can mix all sorts to get some amazing effects.

the damp brush stippling technique you can do with a make up brush as well, this is great for getting in some blotchy discolouration, it's great for adding rusted areas to the armour.

with my scheme it's pale green for the general colour, so the patches of rust really have nice contrast, and it makes the mini pop a lot.

Was just an overall fun time.
