Try a fish tank wave maker you just add it to the lower container and it circulates the solution very well. Don't need the wave controller

The main drawbacks to the Chinese NFT systems sold on eBay & Amazon is the grow pipes are only 2-1/2" in diameter, (actually 63mm), the net cup holes are way too close together, and the net cup holes are very small. Plus, as you mentioned, everything is metric and parts are not available in the US. The flowing water is also deeper than a true NFT system. This video was a great explanation of the various types of systems, nice work.

I wonder if you could get a proper pressurized spray with a cheap water pump, by reducing the water line sizes before it gets to the nozzle.
The reduction of the inside diameter of the lines should increase pressure.
and the clogged nozzle issue could be solved by lowering the total of dissolved solids within the hydroponic solution. Keeping the nutrient levels at just the right levels without any extra. Possibly flushing the system with Reverse Osmosis water or distilled water.

Dwc use a bucket with a control bucket each bucket gets an air stone they make bucket lids for large plants

You just do gravel drain pipe then landscaping fabric you use coco as a the wick. A pipe to fill a cork on a stick to tell fill level. Done a decent flood drain combo works better
