They had a furnace in the tent and may also have been groggy because of carbon dioxide levels building up, causing their irrational flight from the tent.

I am particularly fond of LEMMiNO's video on this case.

There have been no avalanches in that area before, during or since the incident. The only survivor, Yuri Yudin, was often asked what he thought happened to his companions. He maintained until his death in 2013 that the Soviet military had to be involved in the deaths.

Forgot to mention one was missing their eyes, one was missing a tongue and lest we forget their radioactive clothing. Definitely an unusual incident 😅

Yeah, a radioactive avalanche. That explains it. Oh yeah also explains why nothing was buried.

Couple of points
1. It wasn't just men in the expedition, bur a few were women. This was a university student expedition
2. While the most popular theory, the avalanche theories has a few holes in it. The biggest being there was no large slope near the campsite to generate a large and sudden avalance.
3. Not all of the injuries were likely made by whatever pushed them from the tent. A few of the bodies were found down by a stream, including one of the bodies with a crushed head, which was determined to have been crushed down by the river

The only thing about the avalanche theory is that they found the foot prints, and even if the top snow melted that wouldn’t be possible and once they got out of the tent, they walked slowly as if normal

It's total BS. They have NO clue what happened. Avalanche is just dumb.

I've been following this incident for ten years now and the number of varying yet fascinating theories is deep and many!

You left out the fact that all the bodies were radioactive

They unfortunately cut into the slope of the snowfield and there was a slip during the night. Simons take on it seems to be correct!

From what I have read, there are high winds on the Dyatlov Pass. The reports also concluded that the hikers were intoxicated and some reports claimed that the oven leaked toxic gases which made them leave the tent in a hurry. After they left the tent they might hame made some bad decisions which got them killed

When people mention avalanche they forget that there was no evidence of an avalanche. Also some of those injured where so severed it killed them instantly. So those severely injured wouldn't have been able to cut their way out of a tent let alone walk away from it. Also their clothes where radioactive. It is a very strange and well known incident but it definitely wasn't an avalanche.

The avalanche theory makes no sense. Further reports revealed that the hill was at such a small slope that an avalanche couldn't have occurred. The avalanche also doesn't explain the missing tongue, eyebrows and eyes, or the radiation.

The only thing that makes the avalanche theory not make sense is that one of the hiker’s gloves was highly radioactive. Also it started with 10 hikers but one backed out before the incident, hence surviving.

All theories can't explain why all 9 died.

It could not have been an avalanche, because the search team found human trails from the tent to the woods (there are photos of them). If it was an avalanche it would cover the foot trails.

I think the new season 4 of True Detective is gonna be inspired by the Dyalatov Pass mystery
