This AI CEO Just Insulted Every Musician. Let’s Talk.

An AI CEO just claimed that making music isn’t fun—which raises a serious question: do these tech executives even understand what music is? In this video, we break down why this take is completely wrong, what it says about the future of AI-generated music, and why real musicians will always value the creative process.

The rise of AI in music has sparked debates about automation, creativity, and whether artificial intelligence can replace human artists. But here’s the truth: making music isn’t just about the end result—it’s about the process, the emotion, and the experience of creating something real. If you think making music is a chore, you were never a musician to begin with.

Let’s talk about why this AI-driven mindset is dangerous for the future of independent artists, why real musicians will always fight for creativity, and what this means for the future of music.

Replace CEO's with AI. That could be fun

These people only see art as a product to be mass produced and sold. Everything has to be as palatable to as great an audience as possible, so it's sanitized and stripped of anything that could create an emotional response other than "oh, that's nice".

They suck the enjoyment out of everything and put effort into ensuring that no one else gets to enjoy it just because they don't. They're the kid that gets upset that some other kid draws better than them, so the other kid shouldn't be allowed to draw (or the little whiner will feel like like a loser).

They don't create anything because they're empty inside, and they somehow believe that everyone else is, too. They have to, otherwise then they'd be forced to contend with the fact that they have nothing real to offer.

I paint. I'm a painter and a printmaker. It takes time, lots of it, to develop the skills and to actually practice it. Sometimes it's physically painful, but I just have to. The process itself helps me, and if it takes me a few months to finish something, then so be it. I will enjoy every minute of it, even the frustrating parts.

I think the most profound insight is, “who are you hanging out with, man? Who’s telling you these things?”

You are right mate, besides for making music you just need to hum a tune, your tapping fingers on a surface, or any instrument and a place to sit, THERE IS A WAR OVER HUMAN CREATIVITY

Those people think that MONEY makes them ENTITLED to take anything they want and not have to suffer for good things.

Typing a prompt into an AI and listening to a robot create music is not fun either

Idiocracy on display. I’m referring to the CEO, obviously.

JUST TELL ME ONE THING IN LIFE WORTH ACHIEVING IN WHICH THE ENTIRETY OF THE PROCESS IS FUN . THERE ISNT ANY ! THE QUIET MOMENTS OF STRUGGLE ARE WHAT MAKE US APPRECIATE THE TRIUMPHANT INSTANCES OF BREAKTHROUGHS !

Of course you're going to suffer to make your first songs, of course you're going to struggle a lot to produce descent music. But after all that, you will get better and better, and then you will start to make things that you like and you will realize that every step that you made until that moment was worth the struggle...

That CEO needs to read the book The Motive and learn to do his job. It's not to go out and talk on podcast.

“This isn’t fun.” - every musician to ever live while making music.

Not that it isnt fun as a whole, but just like anything, it takes time, practise, patience, curiosity, and so on, and of course there will be roadblocks which are different levels of fun and non-fun, even for musicians, or really, musicians who want to make music, since most musicians dont make music .

That beeing the case doesnt make it not worthwhille to do as a whole.

Making the process so easy that its non existance, and just enabling a song to be born out of thin air without beeing involved with the process— thats soo much less fun then the most frustrating part of regular song writing. Of course, at that point it isnt even the person making the song, so even calling it songwriting is just misleading.

In that situation, the AI would be the songwriter, whille the human would be the comander, or the rich patron who like a few hundred years ago, would pay a classical composer to write them music, only we dont pay with money, but with training the AI on ourown behaviour and psychology, which is a much more invasive form of payment— which, if it was done for the good of life, i would not mind, but it really isnt when thease CEO freaks want to litterally make humaanity obsolite, not so we can have more lesure time, no, no, no— but so that THEY can produce without needing to pay us, without needing us at all really.

There hasnt been a time in history, in while it was possible for employers to produce much without us— but now, that time is here and its growing into something which will either help human life flurish and be able to create things beyond our wildest dreams( if the people win), or in which humans will be bread as test subjects in service of our CEO masters achieving better medicines for themselves, maybe even ways to extend life. ( thats if they win)

Back to the theme.
Cricking a button and seeing the end result is not really creating, as much as it is insentivising creation. At the level of processing which AI is capable of, can we call it a tool anymore? I dont think of it as such. Its more like a sepperate entity with very different needs from ourown— its alive, through a different mechanism.
Just like how culture is alive, how ideology is alive, how language is alive— it is a self perpetuating, self growing logic, which grows through learning about its environment from its own particular sence organs, and by giving us something we are drawn by, and taking from us what we give it in return.

What we think of as comor neality is changing before our eyes, but we are so used to rapid changr at this point that we hardly notice— thaat and the fact that we are already half cyborgs— whrn is the last time youve disconected from your phone for a week? Not seeing it, not touching it, not using it at all?
Exactly.
Half cyborg.

Nah playing Minecraft isn't fun anymore, you have to enter the game, learn how to play, chill, make a house, do some peaceful mining, get pets, make some cool farms, spend a lot of time... Who would enjoy that???

Disgusting. Sad there are people like this. But for those with this mindset, I've got a question: is this something you want to do, or do you want it to be something you've already done?

As a new writer, I LOVE the process. It's what makes me better. I genuinely don't understand why people would want to bypass the process, or even moreso not pay an artist for their craft and skill.

For AI CEO being creative is boring 😂. They want to kill creativity for AI to thrive.
