How To Fix Audio Clipping - 1 Minute Audacity 2020 Tutorial

Recording something on Audacity and red lines start popping up? Does the audio sound too loud? This is called audio clipping and this tutorial helps you get rid of it.

Use this tutorial to get rid of not only those red lines (which is when your audio clips above 0 db) but optimize your aido.

This doesn't eliminate clipping! The tops and bottoms of the waveform are still clipped.

I don't see how you eliminated any clipping. The tops of the peaking waveforms are still squared off. That they are lower in volume doesn't make them less distorted or less unpleasant.

Input Gain right channel: 0.00
Limit to: -0.5 (He actually says this, and this is the field that matters most)
Hold: 10.00
Apply make-up gain: no

These are the settings he's using. But it varies on a case basis.
