The real reason Leo was chosen as a leader TMNT 2012

I've seen some debates and comparison about Leonardos from 2012 and Rise. Lots of people said Leo 2012 only became leader because he asked. I'm guessing they didn't pay attention in season 4 finale. So I hope this will clear things up.

Splinter sums up why Leonardo is my favorite Turtle and always will be. Leo is doing his best to become a great leader who can honorable, royal, mature and will do his best to protect his brothers and his friends.

The fact that Leo cant comprehend Splinters death is heartbreaking. Of course Leo knows about death, he's 15, but trying to comprehend Splinter not being alive...

... It's a harsh reminder that, up until recently, Splinter has been all the Turtles have had. He's their world, and living a life without their sensei and father is incomprehensible...

And then... Well, we all know what happens after...

I've been a leonardo fan since the 80, s so after getting shafted in the original cartoon I'm glad later incarnations actually made his leader thing actually mean something

Hands down the best tmnt version ever. And imo the thing that makes it the best is the development of the characters and real emotion. Wish it was longer tho and had a different ending. Or left it at season four.
