Don’t you love when managers cross train you to do 2-3 jobs but still pay you the salary of working one. 🤠👍🏽

What I’ve realized bad employers and bosses can take a excellent employee and make them into a completely
Hateful employee.

In my experience, people do not quit bad jobs. They leave to escape bad bosses.

I submitted my resignation letter last week Friday. I am the heart of the organization so it really came as a shock to everyone. My reasons were everything you mentioned

I have had issues with lazy people not getting punished and management putting all the work on me. It has happened a few times . I love how they act surprised when i leave. Its not like i quit out of nowhere i try to work out issues before i do that. Once they stop listening then i have no other option.

My department has lost 75% of their staff in 12 months. The day I started, we had 20 people. The day I walked off, there were 5 remaining. At that point, there were the same amount of managers as there were employees. It was very tough to walk away because the benefits were beyond amazing. But sometimes even amazing benefits can't keep an employee there, especially if you have terrible management ruling over you. I couldn't take it one second longer. So I walked off, without notice. I was crying every day for 2 months straight.

Just quit, I was being bullied no stop at my job. Went to manager with documentation. They were gaslight me big time, the women admitted to cussing me out. I was told I was weak for being upset so I quit right then and there. I was done. I'm in healthcare.

Underappreciation and undervalue are two different things. My boss thinks having company hangouts on our off days should make us feel valued and part of the team but I’m not interested in the gossip and capitalizing on my free time. Micromanagers, bosses who manipulate employees into doing extra with no pay, gossip/backbiting, bosses with nothing to teach you… all reasons why good employees walk. They learn your weaknesses and do it better.

Management stealing ideas and credit for stuff they cant even do. So many ideas lost because someone copied it and didnt know how to do it.

I have quit a good job because things started to get toxic and other coworkers were being lazy. Laziness disgusts me so much.

I’m an introvert and have worked at my job for more than 4 years and I have never been promoted. I have never felt appreciated at work and although I may work so hard I am not recognized for my hard work. New employees who come in and barely do their job but only talk have all been promoted because my supervisor favors them also getting paid more that I do and seeing this makes me want to quit all the time. I know I will shine somewhere else and not where my current job is but still it hurts to see this reality.

As a manager, I make sure my team's happiness at work is the most important. Their work/life balance is top priority. If you work after hours on something, you get those hours back somewhere else. I make sure they have the tools they need to do their job. At weekly staff meetings, any individuals recognition of accomplishments and hard work are brought to the attention of the entire team, and thanked. I make sure they know 100% that I have their back, s**t does not roll down hill from me. Mistakes are not bad, they are learning experiences. Their titles match the job they are doing. And this part is difficult, but with persistence I usually get it done: they are paid what the market values them at, not what the accountants and HR think they should earn.

I totally relate to this! I used to work in a kitchen and had to quit due to harassment and constant gossip. But now, I'm working as a labourer at a mine and it's been a total game-changer! The employees are so supportive and kind, always willing to lend a helping hand. I finally feel comfortable and valued at work. Thanks for sharing your story, it's great to know I'm not alone!

Quit last month

Had enough of the chaos, lack of plan, lack of development, opportunities...

Totally demotivated, denoralised. Unsppreciated. Undervalued.

1.) Not getting supplies needed for the job.
2.) Not getting any training.
3.) Closed door policy from the bosses.
4.) Co-workers trash talking

In 15 years of my career, I've never worked for a single company that prioritized employee happiness or retention. As someone who is a top performer on my current team, advocating for myself and standing up for myself has only led to disappointment and (literal) trouble. Unfortunately, the managers and companies most in need of this advice are either not looking for this information or they value it so lowly that it never comes to fruition in the real world.

I am a nurse. I left my last job due to having a toxic manager. She favored the male nurses at the expense of the females, often defending their poor work performance and getting angry with the women, whenever we pointed this out. So, the number of 45% of nurses leaving their jobs seems correct.
