As a storm rages outside, Mollie Kyle (Lily Gladstone) and Ernest Burkhart (Leonardo DiCaprio) share a quiet moment in their blossoming relationship as the events of Killers of the Flower Moon begin to unfold.

Killers of the Flower Moon is now playing in theaters everywhere.

At the turn of the 20th century, oil brought a fortune to the Osage Nation, who became some of the richest people in the world overnight. The wealth of these Native Americans immediately attracted white interlopers, who manipulated, extorted, and stole as much Osage money as they could before resorting to murder. Based on a true story and told through the improbable romance of Ernest Burkhart (Leonardo DiCaprio) and Mollie Kyle (Lily Gladstone), “Killers of the Flower Moon” is an epic western crime saga, where real love crosses paths with unspeakable betrayal. Also starring Robert De Niro, Jesse Plemons, John Lithgow, Brendan Fraser, Tantoo Cardinal, Cara Jade Myers, JaNae Collins, and Jillian Dion, Killers of the Flower Moon is directed by Academy Award winner Martin Scorsese from a screenplay by Eric Roth and Scorsese, based on David Grann’s best-selling book.

Hailing from Apple Studios, Killers of the Flower Moon was produced alongside Imperative Entertainment, Sikelia Productions and Appian Way. Producers are Scorsese, Dan Friedkin, Bradley Thomas and Daniel Lupi, with DiCaprio, Rick Yorn, Adam Somner, Marianne Bower, Lisa Frechette, John Atwood, Shea Kammer and Niels Juul serving as executive producers.

I’m a black American and my grandmother use to do the same during a storm when I was a child . She would turn out the lights and tell us to be quiet. Very interesting.

My favorite scene in the film.- says so much about the characters and each other's culture. Lily's delivery and timing are impeccable.

My family is Cherokee and white and this right here. Powerful. When it storms, you need to be quiet and let it pass over you.

Thank you for telling my tribe and my families story so well. I’m glad it has reached such a large audience. It makes me happy to see so many people learning and talking about our culture

Too me, personally it said so much in just a few seconds.

It was showing the natives respect for nature and its powers.

This is still a thing. We open windows, go outside and watch and love a good storm as long as no one is hurt. The only time we head to a cellar is when we hear the tornado. Watch Twister and the beginning of Wizard of Oz and when the wind blows hard enough you can stand on your feet is the time to head to the cellar. I love the storms! We have a lower injury and death rate than the East because it’s so flat here and we can watch tornados from miles away during the day.
Her accent is also spot on. I had to look up see if she’s from OK. She’s from Montana but sounds like she could be my neighbor.

I’m Hawaiian. My papa would take me out on the lanai and we’d sit and listen. I still do this when it’s storming and you can just feel it when you stay quiet and listen. It’s a beautiful thing.

Non Natives will not understand this scene. This is some of the purest Native representation in film I've seen. They even portray how Ernest doesnt understand why she's saying to be still and the power behind nature (storm). It's a tiny look into how we see the world.

There is nothing wrong with listening to the rain.

I love it when Leonardo DiCaprio plays an utter POS and he does it so well.
Staying still during a storm is pretty common among the POC of Oklahoma to this day.

I’m Muslim and during rain/ storms we pray in silence and everything just stays quiet
It’s seems that most cultures respect nature and know the power that created it God 😍

It’s a fine scene from a great movie showing authenticity but people in the comments section are confused or whether or not they should see the film based on just this scene alone for some reason.

I've been doing that at during storms ever since I was little just out of habit... I've never knew that it was a cultural thing, I did it because it was mentally relaxing/soothing 😌 😅

I worked with someone whose father was a farmer and I remember her telling me that her father would wake up whenever they had a rainstorm during the night so that he could measure or figure out how much he needed to water on the farm the next day, and I thought that was such a beautiful visual.Needs to be a scene in a movie.

My interpretation of this scene is her showing respect for Mother Nature. Which in my humble opinion is powerful as much as it is beautiful.
