but bioware is bioware...baldurs gate, neverwinter nights, kotor, jade empire, mass effect, dragon age...

Resonance of Fate was amazing but its one of those hidden gems most will miss out on.

@millertime6888 Even though you are probably right, Mass Effect 3 and Dragon Age 2 are also coming, so it will be really hard to choose.

@nothereman Yes that completely makes since. Morrowind is my favorite RPG ever and they completely dumbed downed or main streamed Oblivion but to be fair they were one of the first titles out on the new consoles and they probably didn't have a knowledge of how to make a game for them, or atleast not like developers do now. That's why Skyrim is going to be so awesome I think.

@s3t2tru Bioware definitely deserves respect from all RPG fans-alike but the last two Elder Scrolls games won GoTY both and this game has been in development since right after the DLC Shivering Isles for Oblivion (2007). It's going to feature a new Game Engine for the first time since Morrowind and Oblivion were both on the same engine. I think when next months GI Mag article is released people will be surprised by how good and improved Skyrim is compared to Oblivion.

Why is Red Dead Redemption not considered an RPG, you play it in ROLE form rather than forced to do an mission. It's also the only game that would compete with Mass Effect 2

Valkyria Chronicles 2 won't win but it was probab;y one of the most well made RPGs I have played.

Also just want to mention Dragon Age sucked on consoles but all the gameplay videos on PC look kickass. It really needed that full zoom out overhead look like Baldur's Gate and Neverwinter Nights featured.
