I lost the zero stop locking screw (my fault probably) so I emailed about purchasing a set of replacement screws. Within an hour I received an email with a shipping confirmation that my order was being processed, and a minute after that I got an email from customer service thanking me for being a customer, and letting me know they were sending a replacement turret screw pack to me! Great quality scope, clear enough glass, not a huge fan of the reticle at the moment, but I’m use to the Vortex, so it may take time to get use to it.

This Arken review is the most honest I have ever seen on YouTube. I'd expect a review like this if you paid out of your own wallet. Arkens aren't known for their glass and this is supposed to have HD glass which obviously does not. Even their EP5 which supposed to have Japanese ED glass sure doesn't look like it either. They both have excellent turret feel and a very clever zero stop system though. Buy the Arkens only if you don't need or expect good glass or perfect images on high magnification. Their EP5 is a nice scope up until 20x. The SH4 4-16x50 is the best scope model Arken currently sells. The 6-24x SH4 model is a disapointment since it's HD glass isn't good enough to support a 24x scope. You are right, it might be ok to use this one up to 16x for acceptable image quality. Get the SH5 which is more acceptable towards 20x but don't expect Japanese ED glass quality, at least not judging by acceptable industry standards. I think it would be perfect if Arken made the EP5 into a 4-20x instead to not go past their glass quality limitations. It would be a home run and join their great 4-16x SH4.

Wonderful presentation. You asked about our customer service experiences. My first SH4 Gen2 4-16x50mm scope had terrible chromatic aberration. I sent them photo references through the scope and they sent me a return label. I got the replacement scope very quickly.

My notes on the image quality mirror yours. To me, the scope is a bargain all-'round, but if I'm concerned about image quality I'll look elsewhere.

I had ordered the SH4 GEN2 4-16X50mm the end of last year along with the accessory pack. I received the 30mm mount instead of the 34mm. Contacted customer service and had a mount shipped out in a day or 2.

Just subbed man, great review video! I uploaded a review of the SH4 Gen2 4-16x50mm with MOA reticle a couple months ago. I did a whole bunch of torture testing on it from drop tests, to water tests, to temp testing, it held up really well. I noticed that while the glass wasn't necessarily the best, it was still really good and I didn't feel the C.A. was that bad at least on the one they sent me

I just bought this last week (June 2022). Got it in a few days. Haven't used it so can't give any recommendations. However, it's MSRP is $460'ish and it was 30% off which made it $330'ish shipped. I am pretty sure I couldn't find another scope in that price range that is as nice as this.

I just put the same scope on a RPR 6.5 Creedmoor and was hitting a 1000yds with ease! Great scope for the money! My only complaint is the eye box but not a big deal!

I tested my sh4 at 100 yards could easily make 22 cal bullet holes. I think your test is fine. I think the difference is that i had sun behind me reflecting on Target. In this situation, I could make holes a quarter the size of 22s. So the light source is very important. Super great glass on these. The best glass in a scope is not a light source.

Good review.
The scope overall is very well made.
The downsize is probably the quality of the glass.
For an extra $100 or so they can install Schott glass which is No 1 as far as glass goes.
For the price and your on a tight budget. By all means.
At my age I need all the help I can get eye wise

In your opinion, which is the better scope - Arken SH4 or the Athlon Argos BTR Gen 2? Noting they both are pretty similar in prices. Thanks
