It's funny because. In the last moments tobi tests your beliefs of what kind of kid Kris is with duologue about how he's an ass. So you assume him taking control he'd go on a killing spree like Chara. But Kris just wanted to eat all the pie like an ass hole and the player couldn't stop him.

I love the idea of Kris planning to commit murder on one of the monsters in the town...but is then overtaken by the urge to consume an entire pie.

I have a theory now: he put his SOUL into the cage so he doesn't end up getting in an undertale/dark world battle with the pie.

Knowing Toby, it would be pretty normal to see a battle with a pie.

I think Kris ate the entire pie because we didn't feed them the entirety of day 1 except for hot cocoa which doesn't really count. Same goes for water.

It makes logical sense if a human ate basically nothing for an entire day, they would eat an entire pie.

You didn't predict, you told Toby how it should be. He had a story in his head for the sequel, but after watching the animation it was just way too much inspiration to simply leave it out of the canon.
