Flight and Space Elective intro Nelson

Introduction to 7th and 8th grade elective Computer Science for Innovators and Makers - Offered at Beavercreek Middle schools.
This is a Project Lead the Way class, provided by Greene County Career Center, that works with the four forces of flight. Students research and learn about the history of flight, use Whitebox Learning to design and test a balsa wood glider on a computer simulation, then print off their plans and build a physical balsa wood glider to test in the school gym. Students use Flite Test materials to build a foamboard plane, then we create a competition to create an egg carrying compartment to carry an egg aboard our gliders. Finally we learn about drones in our society and are able to participate in some drone racing and FPV drone investigations.
