I would like to remind that some cans actually have a thin plastic layer inside. — we can see that in a video from NurdRage in which Hydrochloric acid (5%) is used to dissolve a CocaCola Zero can and what we’re left with is the thin plastic layer I was talking about.

I believe our best bottled option is to actually drink glass bottled water.

I was having bottled water delivered and have a Contigo insulated bottle for the car (keeps cold for 24 hours). I researched a number of companies and settled on a Berkey water filter. LOVE it! I can use water from the tap and it is completely filtered. Worth the up-front investment of a few hundred to get clean water for lifetime. Just change filters every few years. No monthly cost, great tasting water and no bottles! Not affilitated with them. BEST INVESTMENT! Just love to share good news!

99% of the time I use glass, cast iron, ss, rolled steel. I don't use aluminum, coated pans, or plastic containers.

Awesome video, doc, thanks!

My very autistic son decided we no longer use plastic bags and screams (literally) any time we would use them. I learned quickly to bring my reusable bags. Now I'm becoming aware of how much single-use plastic I'm buying every day and switching where I can. Supporting eco-friendly companies with our dollars is one way we end consumers can actually make a difference and fuel change. It's going to take a paradigm shift but the younger generations seem to be well on it.

Simply Orange and Simply Lime among others use 'plastic' bottles that are made from plants. Any good/bad data available on those bottles? Great Video as always!

Why aren't we making biodegradable plastics from hemp?

Just don't buy packaged water. Bring filtered water in a glass bottle from home.

I do not remember when the last time, I have bought a bottled water or drink...!? I did maybe 10 times in my life. I carry always my water, green tea from home every where or using water fountain ⛲️. You can do it, plan it, it feels great if along aside that you pick up plastics around of your walk, bike ride and so on...

Go to HomeDepot or another supplier and install in your house a 5 micron filter for the whole house and for kitchen sink - drinking and cooking another filter of 0.5 microns.
I am not a plumber I did this for my house and the investment cost me around $700. I change the filters one a year ($100).
With the plex tubes and Shark Bite fittings anybody can do this. Just browse the you tube in this matter.
The water we drink is full of VOC (volatile organic compounds), drugs, heavy metals, chists, girardia and so on.
Clean it with filters. Don't wash yourself with chlorine and don't drink unfiltered water.
It is one of the best investment in your health.

I used to have a friend who died from cancer. He told me a study had been done at a facility concerning canned beverages. He said it was proved that the stuff they put on the cans to make them spin faster on the production line caused cancer. I believe my friend but i personally do not know if it is true or not. Don't know that it would effect the drinkung of it. He seemed to say it did. I wish the doctor would have based his study more on the effects it has on humans instead of the environment! I can really taste a difference in canned beverages and bottled. I prefer bottled.
By the way.... I work at a recycle center. We recycle about everything except glass. We used to but the majority of people who work here are challenged individuals and the glass was too dangerous. We could not get them to quit throwing them into the big recycle bins. Glass usually flew around a lot.

Surprise: the inner wall of every can is coated with plastic to prevent chemicals from the can metal being oxidized by the can content.
