Ironic, the ability to run Android apps under Windows was the only reason I ever considered moving to 11 from 10, and now MS have taken that away. Good job Microsoft, you've made Windows 11 even less appealing.

Wasn’t this one of their key features for win11? LOL

Take a shot every time "Windows Subsystem for Android" is mentioned

I thought that it was an interesting idea but I never used it. I did create an Android virtual machine on my QNAP NAS just for the hell of it but found very little appeal. If I had an Android phone, it might be a different story for me. If I was an Android user, at this point, I would consider using Windows Hyper-V and install Android as a VM on my Windows desktop.

Looks like I’ll be buying a cheap office PC purpose built exclusively for Brunch. I used the feature for games, and would have used it more if it supported apps that required login or location based, productivity, etc.

Alternate theory: there are a lot of other options for running Android apps on Windows. Some of these are paid products that could have potentially lost money if WSA took off and became popular. This was a potential antitrust case waiting to happen where the companies behind those paid products could've sued Microsoft over it.

Given how governments around the world (especially the EU) have been clamping down on big tech, this could have been an attempt to avoid a potential legal firestorm, or the result of some complaints being made etc.

Literally the only reason I ever considered using win11

This feature wasn't very popular and it costs Microsoft money to staff it, so they decided to drop this feature. Also Android Apps displayed like do on your phone and were slow

This sucks. It was one of the main reasons I kept checking to see when windows 11 ascended from a "worse windows 10 with bloatware" to a good general operating system.

I think this would have made more sense for Microsoft, if they still had a mobile presence. As it is, not having access to the Google Playstore, I believe it was dead in the water before it started.

I avoided Amazon since they destroyed Blink. I will go to my grave bitter about that😅

WSA was the only fucking reason why I updated to Win11🤦‍♂️

There was always a workaround that gave us Google Play support for fucks sakes Microsoft why can't we have nice things

it’s a shame that it’s not supported anymore it was good idea what’s the point in discontinuing it you probably need more ram to run the Android apps what a waste of time in developing it if there going discontinued it’s with updates

I use it as a glorified productivity widget utilising foss software. I hope they give the AI Visual widget-like proporties

Not sure if the apps I use are from Windows or Amazon but if they stop working I wont be happy that's for sure. It's just making life more awkward
