The SS (Schutzstaffel) was originally formed in 1925. It was formed to act as a small bodyguard unit to protect the Führer, Adolf Hitler. Under the direction of the Reichsführer-SS Heinrich Himmler, the SS grew to be the most ruthless and feared organization of the 20th century. They were the vanguard of Nazism and eventually controlled nearly every function of German life and much of Occupied Europe. The SS dagger was introduced in 1933. Early on, members of the SS were awarded their daggers during a ceremony at the Feldherrnhalle Memorial in Munich. The annual ritual, charged with mysticism and meant to reflect the traditions of medieval Teutonic knights, was held on 9 November, the date of the martyred unsuccessful Putsch of 1923. Both officers and enlisted men wore the identical dagger until 1936. After this time, only enlisted men wore the M1933 dagger. The SS dagger was equipped with nickel crossguards with an ebony wood grip. The black grip contained a National eagle with swastika insignia recessed in the center area and an SS sigrunne button inset at the top. On early examples the scabbard shell surface was factory blackened using a metal bluing process.

The SS Himmler Honour Dagger was introduced in 1934 after the successful purge called "The Night of the Long Knives". It was presented to 200 members of the SS who took part in the purge.

The obverse of the dagger had the standard "Meine Ehre heisst Treue" (My Honour is Loyalty) with the Special "Honour" dedication being engraved onto the reverse side of the blade. The dedication read "In Herzlicher Kameradschaft , H. Himmler" (In Cordial Comradeship, H. Himmler).

The music is by Johannes Brahms, '' A German Requiem ''.

This is actually a 12th - 13th century Swiss design that the Germans adopted. It was a popular, practical handle design that kept the user’s hand from sliding onto the blade or slipping rearward and dropping the knife.

Iron, nickel, and cobalt are the three magnetic metals, along with some certain ceramics,  when the percentage gets low enough in combination with the right metals, as in nickel-silver, the material won't exhibit magnetic properties.  Again, this is a combination of different alloy, also known as old German silver.  Do a search on the web and you will see that nickel silver as no magnetic properties.

There are couple of dealers that you can get it from, Tom Wittmann and Tom Johnson are two of the best known and both have written reference books on the subject, a must for any serious collector.

It’s an historical artefact from an important period of recent human history. In just one item, that particular dagger, one can explain the whole rise and fall of the third Reich and what it represented. It is important that such artefacts are respected but under no circumstances revered or worshipped !!
