Mímir (Old Norse "The rememberer, the wise one") or Mim is a figure in Norse mythology renowned for his knowledge and wisdom who is beheaded during the Æsir-Vanir War. Afterward, the god Odin carries around Mímir's head and it recites secret knowledge and counsel to him.
Mímir is smriti, the total memory quality of the field of pure consciousness. Within its own fully awake self-referral nature it contains the liveliness of all possibilities, the total memory of all the different qualities of Creative Intelligence that give rise to creation. Based on that memory seated in the transcendental field, creation comes out again and again. Ginnungagap encompasses opposite qualities: unity and diversity, infininte silence and infinite dynamism, expansion and contraction.
